DARE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA -- A Dare County Grand Jury has indicted Nathan Summerfield, 26, on the charge of first-degree murder.
Summerfield is accused of strangling and stabbing his estranged girlfriend, Lynn Jackenheimer, while on vacation in the Outerbanks in July.
Jackenheimer's body was found badily decomposed 10 days later about a half hour's drive from where the couple was staying.
Summerfield was on the run for more then a month. He was captured in a Medina motel in August.
His next court appearance has not been scheduled.
