AKRON -- Three people have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was shot while sitting inside a parked car Monday night.
Akron Police say the car was parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Marcy Street when the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m.
When officers tried to stop a car leaving the area of the shooting, the male occupants ran from the vehicle. They were all apprehended after a brief foot chase.
Officers also recovered two guns -- one from inside the vehicle the males ran from and one in a yard along their path.
Those arrested are Dallas Delatte, 23; Emear Gibson, 18 and a 17-year-old male. They have been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business. Both adults were booked into the Summit County Jail, but the 17-year-old was placed in the custody of the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.
