AVON -- A construction worker has died of his injuries after being struck on I-90 Wednesday morning.
The Avon Fire Department confirmed the 63-year-old man died at the hospital. The worker's name has not been released.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the worker was a sub-contractor working in the I-90 construction zone in Avon near Nagel Road.
Police say two cars had collided on I-90 and one of them was pushed into the construction zone, striking the worker as he put up tarps. The driver of the car was also injured.
All lanes on I-90 between Crocker Road and Route 83 had to be closed during the accident investigation. All lanes were reopened just after 2:30 p.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
