AKRON -- Citing tough economic times, the Olde Harbor Inn, a Portage Lakes legend, announced on its website they are closed for business.
"This decision does not come lightly," the statement on their site declares. "We have poured our hearts and souls into making this location one of the best spots for seafood and entertainment in Summit County. Unfortunately, the tough economic times we are all experiencing have finally caught up with us, and we are no longer able to remain open for business."
The Olde Harbor Inn was located at water's edge in the 500 block of Portage Lakes Drive.
The restaurant's menu, a true indication of their specialty, included a wave of seafood options like fish, shrimp, lobster, crab and calamari.
They also served up multiple pasta and steak dishes, among others selections.
A separate bar menu was available for the Olde Harbor Inn's attached Lighthouse Bar and Grill, which often hosted live music events.
An outdoor patio provided seating right on the lake, while there were also waterfront banquet rooms on site for booking private events.
But now, the location sits dormant.
"We will truly miss the wonderful patrons and staff who have become our friends and family over the years," the statement ended.
The restaurant's website will remain temporarily visible.
