Cleveland: Officer's gun discharges during arrest attempt

CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are investigating the discharge of an officer's weapon during an attempted arrest.

The off-duty officer observed a suspected drug deal at East 134th Street and Lorenzo Avenue and attempted to make an arrest Thursday afternoon.

After identifying himself as an officer with his gun drawn, the officer struggled with one of the suspects and the gun went off. No one was hurt.

One of the suspects was taken into custody and the other is currently being sought by police.

A small amount of marijuana was taken from the suspects' vehicle.
