PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- A Painesville resident fought back against a home invader overnight, stabbing the would-be robber and sending them to the hospital.
Police first received the call at 3 a.m. Friday.
The suspect, 26, of Painesville, allegedly broke into an apartment on Pearl Street, where the resident, 54, stabbed the suspect, police said.
That suspect was taken to Tri Point Medical Center and later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
The resident was also taken to Tri Point for injuries suffered during the incident.
There is no word on their conditions.
Police have not released the names of the people involved, as their investigation continues.
