EUCLID -- A convicted drug trafficker who was granted a furlough used the chance to escape.

Hours after the media broadcast the information online, U.S. Marshals said Rayshawn Dallas "turned himself in to the Euclid Police. Dallas and his family saw news reports that he was being profiled as the Fugitive of the Week and decided to end his run."

Rayshawn Dallas was being sought by U.S. Marshals and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. He pleaded guilty in 2009 to 10 crimes, including assault, resisting arrest, and drug trafficking, and was granted release in June, 2012.

Dallas, 30, was to have reported to the Oriana House but never showed up and has been on the run ever since. He was then charged with escape. His previous criminal record dating back to 2001 includes 5 other arrests and 15 additional criminal charges.

It is believed that Dallas is hiding in Euclid, where he used to live in the 700 block of Walnut Drive.  A reward was being offered for the information which leads to his capture.

Tips can be called into the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Hotline at 1-866-4-WANTED, or texted to 847411 (tip411) using the keywork Wanted.

Informants can remain anonymous and still qualify for the reward.
