CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Police Union is defending two officers who say they were forced to shoot an armed man over the weekend.
The incident happened Sunday near East 93rd.
The officers say they ordered 27-year-old Randell Scott Junior to raise his hands. They say Scott refused to comply and at one point lowered his hands towards a gun in his waistband forcing them to shoot.
Some witnesses say the officers went too far.
Scott is listed in critical condition at the hospital.
He is the son of former Cleveland city councilwoman Sabra Pierce Scott.
