INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- The Independence High School student body crowned a very special homecoming queen Friday.
Sarah Greene has Down Syndrome but has never let it stop her from following her dreams.
The high school cheerleader has spent the season cheering for the team, but Friday night it was her classmates who were cheering for her as she accepted the crown for homecoming queen.
"I was really excited, all my friends were watching," said Sarah.
And so was Sarah's mom. "I'm very excited for my daughter, for the school a nice tribute for everyone," said Sarah's mom.
When asked if she thought she was going to win, Sarah smiled and said "yes."
