CHISHOLM, Minnesota - In the first hours of autumn, Minnesota received its first snowfall of the season.

About a half inch of snow fell near Duluth in the overnight hours. But, with warm ground and temperatures in the forties Saturday morning, the snow didn't stay long.

It's the earliest snowfall in the duluth region since 1995.

That part of Minnesota usually does not receive measurable snow until late October.
