CLEVELAND -- A North Ridgeville man charged after police say he was found with weapons inside a Westlake movie theater has been ruled competent to stand trial.
The judge made the determination at a pretrial hearing for Scott Smith on Monday.
Police arrested Smith of North Ridgeville in August after he was found with weapons including a gun, ammo and knives at a showing of the Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises."
Smith faces two concealed weapon counts and one of having a weapon under disability.
His attorney said Smith had the weapons for protection in case someone tried to copy the Colorado theater shooting that left 12 dead.
Smith's trial is scheduled to begin in December.
