WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS -- Police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl following a fight on Walford Road Wednesday night.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office said the teen, Shaakira Dorsey, died Wednesday night after being taken to University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center.

Late Friday, Warrensville Heights High School confirmed that Shaakira was an 11th grader there.

According to the police report obtained by WKYC, the fight happened just before 8 p.m. in the 4700 block of Walford Road. Police responded to a call of a fight in progress but the fight was over by the time they arrived.

Officers noticed EMS outside a nearby apartment where they were working on an unresponsive girl.

The teen's stepfather told police she had been "pacing back and forth" before she collapsed on the grass.

According to the report, a woman pulled up in an SUV and told police that her 16-year-old daughter had been fighting with Shaakira. The victim's stepfather told officers that he had broken up a fight.
