CLEVELAND -- A 60-year-old retired Cleveland police sergeant appeared in a Cleveland courtroom Friday morning on aggravated murder charges.
Dale Edwards' bond was set at $100,000 on those charges.
Just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to a home on East 151st Street for a report of a man shot.
Police arrived and called EMS, which took the victim to MetroHealth Medical Center where he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim as 25 year old Antoine Graves of Cleveland.
The Cleveland Police Homicide Unit's preliminary investigation shows that Graves and the suspect, who is the victim's landlord, were arguing over rent money.
During the argument, the suspect produced a handgun and shot the unarmed victim.
The suspect then called police and told the police dispatcher about the shooting.
