PITTSBURGH -- Police say shots fired at a youth football game in the Pittsburgh area has sent three people to the hospital, two of them in critical condition.
Commander Thomas Stangrecki of the Pittsburgh police department says some kind of fight broke out in the stands at the field in the East Liberty neighborhood shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday.
He says one male was shot three times in the chest and a woman was shot in the abdomen. Both were taken to UPMC Presbyterian in critical condition.
Another woman shot in the arm was also taken to a hospital. One of the coaches for the 6- and 7-year-old players, Don Peters, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that people started screaming and scrambling out of the stands.
Stangrecki says no suspects have been arrested.
