BARBERTON -- A Cleveland Police Officer was arrested early Sunday morning for driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) level more than twice the legal limit.
According to the Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Melanie Wilson was stopped for speeding on Eastern Road at 2:52 a.m. Sunday. She was going 53 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Based on observations from officers, a field sobriety test was performed. Shortly after, Wilson revealed that there was a loaded gun in her car and that she was a Cleveland police officer.
She was taken to the Lawrence Township Police Department for a breathalyzer test where her BAC level was .171.
Wilson was booked into the Summit County Jail and has since been released.
