Over 400 Northeast Ohioans have signed up to volunteer for our inaugural "Make A Difference Day" this Saturday and it's not too late for you to help.  Here's a list of projects that need some extra hands this weekend.  Remember, you could win some great prizes just for spending a couple of hours helping others in our community.  For more information, click here.

Priority Projects to Fill

 

Fall Harvest and Cleanup

Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Spring Hill Farm in Seven Hills need volunteers to help with harvesting and clearing brush to expand the planting/growing area for next year. 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Minimum age 18.  Need at least 5 more volunteers         

 

Habitat Restoration

Hampton Hills Metro Park in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park needs help with a native habitat restoration project that involves removing planting that are non-native and invasive. 9:00 am to 11:00 am.  Need at least 5 more volunteers.

 

Trail Clean Up

Cleveland Metropark's Bedford Reservation is in need of volunteers to remove limbs from trail and move into woodline along designated trails 18753 Egbert Road. 9:00 am to 11:30 am.  Need at least 10 more volunteers.

 

Santa's Hide A Way Hollow

Santa's Hide A Way Hollow is dedicated to working with seriously and terminally ill children and their families. Volunteers are needed to help with fall clean up including cutting/trimming trees and grass; indoor sweeping and window cleaning etc. Minimum age 16. 9 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  Need at least 15 more volunteers.

 

Paint the Fire Museum Red! Sorta!

We need volunteers to help clean walls in the fire station and to paint rooms on the first floor and basement. Weather permitting some volunteers will work outside to clean up the site while others will be working inside cleaning and painting. 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Need at least 4 more volunteers for 1-4 shift.

 

Safety 4 Students/Love 4 Lots

Help improve the city of East Cleveland by beautifying vacant lots. Volunteers are needed to weed, trim, plant flowers, and pick up trash and recycling. We can pick a project area to suit the size of the group that signs up. 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Need at least 10 more volunteers.
