Volunteers help out at Coats for Kids for Make a Difference Day 2012.

During Make a Difference Day, volunteers helped sort through 1,100 coats at the organization.

Loretta Arnold with Coats for Kids says the volunteers are critical in helping the children who might otherwise go without a coat this winter.

Coats for Kids hopes to distribute 20,000 coats this winter.
