CLEVELAND -- FirstEnergy is reporting on its website that more than 240,00 customers throughout its coverage region are without power after Superstorm Sandy.
More than 145,000 of the outages are within Cuyahoga County. Cleveland and Lakewood are among the hardest hit areas. Sixty percent of Lakewood is in the dark. Westlake has more than 10,000 customers without power. One of the areas impacted included the shopping district of Crocker Park.
FirstEnergy has told customers that depending on the extent of the storm damage, some customers could be without power for days.
