WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama will remain in Washington, DC on Wednesday to monitor the response to Hurricane Sandy and ensure that all available federal resources continue to be provided to support ongoing state and local recovery efforts, his campaign stated Tuesday.

Teh President had been scheduled to deliver remarks at a grassroots event in Cincinnati in one of two Ohio events planned for Halloween.

The president's campaign trip to Ohio was to be part of a swing that had been scheduled to begin Tuesday in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Green Bay, Wis., and continue on Wednesday in Cincinnati and at the University of Akron, according to the campaign.
