CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio -- Police are investigating after a strange string of events in Cuyahoga Falls and Akron early Thursday morning.

It started when police investigated a break-in call on Akron Peninsula Road in Cuyahoga Falls at about 4 a.m. The homeowner, Edward Grether, reportedly witnessed a man breaking into his home after he went into his kitchen to find out where a loud banging noise was coming from.

When officers arrived, Grether was on the front lawn. Police entered the home to find the alleged burglar sleeping in Grether's bed.

When officers tried to arrest the suspect, later identified as Jacob S. Parker, 22, of Akron, he woke up and started fighting with police.

Officers then used a Taser on Parker and took him into custody.

Police also found the suspect's car in the driveway of Grether's home, with the door wide open and a purse, keys and a cell phone inside, belonging to Parker's girlfriend, Nicole Matthews.

However, Matthews was nowhere to be found.

Cuyahoga Falls and Akron Police went to Matthew's apartment in Akron's North Hill neighborhood to check on her well-being where they found her extremely intoxicated and unresponsive. She eventually woke up as Cuyahoga Falls EMS checked her out.

Parker was charged with burglary and resisting arrest. He will be in Stow Municipal Court for arraignment this morning.
