PAINESVILLE -- Police have charged a woman with the attempted murder by suffocation of her four-week-old son and domestic violence.
Police arrested and charged the woman, 21, after she was released from MetroHealth Medical Center.
Police are not releasing her name and she is scheduled to appear in Painesville Municipal Court at 11 a.m. Friday.
Police were called to Mentor Avenue about 1:49 p.m. Sunday for a child abuse complaint. Police discovered the woman was trying to suffocate her son.
The child was taken to Tri-Pointe Medical Center and the mother was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Police arrested her Thursday when she was released from MetroHealth.
