AVON LAKE, Ohio -- The fight over what to do about the abundant deer population in Avon Lake continues.
One ordinance being proposed includes bow hunting within city limits with a permit.
One resident who spoke out at Thursday's council meeting is concerned about her family's safety.
"It's a very major safety concern for our residents, to our visitors, to our families," said Kristy Haude.
"I think there has been very little thought to the safety of our kids," said Haude.
One resident in supporting the ordinance said the safety concern is with the deer.
"I had 3 deer hit in front of my house by cars," said William Delfs. Wednesday's meeting was only the first step in discussing the ordinance.
