ST. MARYS, Ohio -- Channel 3 News Today Anchor Erin Kennedy goes inside the world of grocery auctions to see how savvy shoppers are saving some money.

Every year, U.S. grocers discard $10 billion to $15 billion in unsold products. One way to make that money back is to sell it to auction houses.

At these auctions, shoppers can bid on the items that wholesalers and grocery stores are trying to unload. The items may be seasonal, discontinued, or past their "sell-by" date.
