MENTOR -- A Mentor man is accused of trashing a hotel room at America's Best Valu in Mentor because he couldn't get a pizza delivered to it.
Police were called about 1:30 a.m. Friday from America's Best Value Hotel because one of the rooms had flooded and the water was leaking.
Police arrived to find the room with the water leakage had been "destroyed," hotel employee said.
In addition to three inches of water in the room, they found multiple holes in the walls, lamps had been smashed and the bed had been taken apart and thrown around the room.
Daniel J. DiFranco Jr, 37, of Mentor, was the registered guest in the room.
He told police he became upset when he couldn't get a pizza delivered to the room.
Police charged him with felony vandalism. Police estimate about $5,000 worth of damage.
