BROADVIEW HEIGHTS -- Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but a Broadview Heights woman should not have imitated the Cleveland "sidewalk driver."
Cleveland: 'Sidewalk driver' wears 'idiot sign' as part of punishment
Woman completes sidewalk sign sentence
The Broadview Heights incident happened the day after the Cleveland driver completed her two-day sentence Nov. 13-14.
A police report from Nov. 15 shows that about 2:50 p.m. Nov. 15, a school bus driver watched the driver of a red Honda SUV drive along the sidewalk outside Broadview Heights Middle School to get past a line of buses picking up students who were coming out of the school.
The bus driver wrote down the license plate of the Honda and police identified the owner/driver as Nancy Yachanin. When police called her, she "admitted to driving on the sidewalk and stated she did so because she had been blocked in by the line of buses," the police report read.
Police cited Yachanin for "careless operation on private property in willful/wanton disregard for public safety," according to the police report obtained by WKYC.
