Westlake: Man arrested for arson in garage fire

WESTLAKE -- A Westlake man has been taken into custody on a charge of aggravate arson in connection with a garage fire.

Daniel Jung, 30, is accused of pouring an accelerant around a cluster of propane tanks and aerosol cans and then igniting the liquid this morning.

A person who saw Jung acting suspiciously called 911.

Westlake, Rocky River, North Olmsted and Fairview Park helped put out the fire. The structure sustained moderate damage. No one was hurt.

Jung was taken to the hospital after making threats to harm himself. He will be returned to the Westlake City Jail upon his release.

According to police records, Jung was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault in 2004 for running down his father and injuring his mother with a car in the driveway of the family's home.
