CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland woman has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for her role in a ring that forced children into prostitution.
Chardee Barfield, 22, pleaded guilty previously to two counts of sex related charges. Her co-defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday.
According to the U.S. Attorney from on or about December 16, 2011, through December 31, 2011, Barfield and her co-defendant transported a 16 year-old girl from Ohio to Pennsylvania with the intent that the girl engage in prostitution, according to court documents.
A confidential informant, a 15-year-old runaway told investigators the pair forced her to have sex with more than 200 men.
Federal prosecutors say the pair used websites to recruit for their prostitution operation.
