SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Here are some numbers to consider as Manti Te'o heads into the Heisman Trophy ceremony this weekend.

His seven interceptions this season are the most ever by a Notre Dame linebacker and the most by any linebacker since 2006. He also has 103 tackles, four pass breakups and recovered two fumbles.

He has never scored a touchdown, which would be unusual to say the least for a Heisman winner. His coaches and teammates say the numbers alone don't define what Te'o has meant to the team. He is the heartbeat of the top-ranked Irish.

He will find out Saturday night if he'll be the first Irish player to win since Tim Brown in 1987
