CHARDON -- A school shooting impact is felt far outside the community where it occurred, but few know what it's like to be at the center of the tragedy like the people of Chardon.

In light of the 26 victims of the Connecticut school shooting, students and parents in the Geauga County town gathered to pray Friday night at a candlelight vigil.

"You just think of what those family members are going through and you know what they're thinking. How they're coping with it. You just think about Chardon all over again," said Tabitha Hill.

Chardon High School sophomore Nick Schuler says as horrible as his experience was last February, he can't imagine someone harming Kindergarteners.

He says his school was so humbled by the national outpouring of support, they plan to make posters and cards next week to send to Sandy Hook Elementary School.

"We just thought the best way to honor the three victims here was to try and help out people going through the same thing," Nick said.
