North Canton: Man arrives home, arrested for operating meth lab

NORTH CANTON -- A North Canton man arrived at his Fairview Street SE home to find police searching his home.

James Clark Haldeman, 47, was arrested for trafficking in drugs, illegal manufacture of drugs, and possession of drugs.

About 1 p.m. Thursday, the North Canton Police Department Special Response Team served a search warrant at 221 Fairview St. SE. regarding an investigation of illegal drug activity occurring at the residence.

After a short investigation, assisted by the Jackson Township Police Department, substantial information and facts were gathered and presented to the Canton Municipal Court Prosecutors Office to obtain the search warrant.

Officers found evidence of the manufacture and assembly of methamphetamine.

Agents from the Stark County Metropolitan Narcotics Unit also assisted at the residence. No one was injured during the search.

Haldeman was arrested without incident when he arrived home while officers were completing their investigation and search.

Haldeman was booked into the Stark County Jail on the above stated charges.
