CLEVELAND -- Hundreds and hundreds lined up for Christmas meals at the hunger center at St. Augustine's Church in Tremont Christmas Day.
The dozens of volunteers were waiting for them in the community room at the West 14th Street church, ready to pile their plates high with sweet potatoes, green beans, ham, potatoes, other vegetables and stuffing.
But they weren't all that were served Christmas Day. More volunteers headed out to deliver dinner to more than 5,000 elderly and handicapped.
Coordinating all of this was Director of Programs Sister Corita Ambro.
She thanked the community for their support and appealed to everyone to support St. Augustine's efforts all year long.
