BAY VILLAGE -- More than 300 people plunged into 2013 at Huntington Beach, running straight into Lake Erie.
Channel 3's Sara Shookman was among the crowd at the Cleveland Triathlon Club's 10th Annual Polar Bear Plunge.
The air temperature was 25 degrees, but with northerly wind gusts up to 20 mph, at times it felt like 11 degrees. The water was 38 degrees.
But if you call those who participated crazy, they won't mind.
"They all say it's crazy. But we do crazy things. We're Clevelanders," said Eric Gibb, a member of CTC's board.
"It's not just triathletes. It's triathletes, it's runners, it's cyclists, it's just general people that want to be just as crazy on New Year's Day."
