PEPPER PIKE -- A Pepper Pike school closed Tuesday as a result of a domestic situation involving some students' parents.

According to police, a man made a threat involving firearms and left his home this morning with a gun. As a precaution, officers were at Gross Schechter Day School when the man's wife dropped off their children for school.

Administrators say they also closed the school for the day as a precaution.

Police say there was never any threat against the school itself.

Officers are now searching for the husband.

The school released the following statement and says classes will be held on Wednesday.

The safety of our children and faculty is paramount. We partner with the Pepper Pike police and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland to monitor security needs and adapt security arrangements on an ongoing basis. We closed the school today due to a domestic concern. No direct threat was made to the school. The closing was precautionary. After speaking with the Pepper Pike police and evaluating the most current information, we have made the decision to reopen the school tomorrow.
