CLEVELAND -- A judge has set bond at $1M for a man accused of shooting a woman with a BB gun in the parking lot of a hotel in Orange.
David Fields, 59, was arraigned via video this morning at the Justice Center. A grand jury has indicted him on charges of kidnapping, felonious assault, theft and aggravated robbery.
Police say the victim was shot five times in the head and neck with a BB gun as she sat in the parking lot of a hotel after having breakfast on December 27.
According to police, Fields attempted to take the woman's purse. He was captured a short distance away behind another hotel in Orange. During the incident, hotels in the area were placed on lockdown.
Police say records show that Fields was out on parole after serving 30 years for aggravated murder.
