Rootstown Township: 2 injured, 1 critical, after accident

ROOTSTOWN -- A one-car accident sends two victims to area hospitals.

State Troopers are investigating a one-car crash that occurred Friday afternoon shortly before 5:30 p.m.

The accident happened on IR 76 between State Route 44 and State Route 14.

The driver was heading eastbound on IR 76 when she went off the side of the road, struck a guard rail, and then came back onto the roadway and hit the median concrete barrier.

The driver went to Robinson Memorial Hospital. Her passenger is in critical condition at Akron City Hospital.

The crash is still under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
