CLEVELAND --  Cleveland police arrested two men, 19 and 25, for felonious assault, accused of posing as a local TV news crew and tasering people with a stun gun.

They also took a third person, a juvenile, into custody and driven to Jane Edna Recreation Center. Officers took the camera and stun gun as evidence.

While in police custody, Solomon Herbert, 19,  stated that he was video recording as Derek Rowell, 25, shocked people with the stun gun, according to police records.

When asked who shocked the victim, Herbert stated that Rowell shocked the victim as he recorded it, and that they were doing it just for fun.

Then Rowell told police he was shocking people because he was being told to do so.

Police tell Channel 3 that they have reviewed the video and know there are other suspects involved in these incidents.

Police say they were called out to the 8800 block of Detroit Avenue around 2 p.m. Saturday after a victim reported that six men with a digital camera approached him claiming to be with a local television station and wanted to interview him.

The man kept walking and that's when he said the "news crew" jumped him and zapped him on the neck with a stun gun and then ran off.

The victim told police he is a resident of a group home and a similar incident was reported earlier in the week in the same area.

Around 4:13 p.m. Saturday, the "fake news crew" struck again on the city's west side, police reported.

According to a Cleveland police report, police got a phone call from the owner of Dairy Mart on Detroit Avenue and W. 89th Street for a group of men using a stun gun on people and videotaping the incidents.

Police arrived and saw three men crossing Detroit Avenue at W. 80th Street. Two of the men matched the suspect descriptions. The trio were walking towards a bus stop where officers approached and detained them.
