CLEVELAND -- Cleveland fire crews have their work cut out for them early Tuesday morning, as a house fire in whiteout conditions is proving difficult to fight.

The fire was reported before 1:30 a.m. on Adams Avenue on Cleveland's east side.

Sub-zero gusting winds, ice formation and minimal visibility in the blustering snow has made this fire very difficult for firefighters to combat.

No injuries have been reported so far, but it is unclear how many people escaped from the two homes.

One elderly woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
