AKRON -- Two men are in custody on multiple charges after a pizza delivery request churned up police interest.
Akron Police say it was around midnight Tuesday when officers patrolling in the 900 block of Allendale Avenue observed a pizza delivery driver looking for an address. When they stopped and spoke with the delivery driver, authorities realized the pizza ordered was called to a vacant house.
Moments later, police spotted a dark blue 2000 Hyundai Tiburon in a nearby driveway with two men reclined in their seats and the vehicle running. As officers approached the vehicle, both males reportedly said they were waiting to meet up with some girls, but could not provide any further information.
Police say the males gave consent to search the car where officers found two white hockey masks and a loaded handgun.
After obtaining the phone number used to place the pizza order, an officer called and heard one of the suspect's cell phones ringing inside the car.
Both men -- Ricco Moss, 20, and Demetrious Bishop, 19 -- were arrested and charged with attempted aggravated robbery, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property as the gun was reported stolen in Louisiana.
They have been booked in the Summit County Jail.
