AUSTINBURG TOWNSHIP -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-yehicle crash that resulted in one fatality.

At about 10:11 p.m. Tuesday, troopers responded to a traffic crash involving one vehicle on Woodside Drive, east of Windsor Mechanicsville Road, in Austinburg Township.

The snowmobile was a 2005 Bomabadier MKZ Adrenaline snowmobile driven by Steven P Pawlowski, 48, of Rome.

Preliminary investigation shows the snowmobile was eastbound on Woodside Drive whenit ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and a tree, ejecting the driver.

It overturned and came to rest upside down.

The Austinburg Fire and North Central Ambulance Division responded to the scene and Pawlowski was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pawlowski was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and there were no passengers on the snowmobile.

Troopers say alcohol is believed to be a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
