Cleveland: Police recapture prisoner mistakenly released

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police and the U.S. Marshals arrested Drew Danzy, 20,  of Cleveland, at W. 56th Street and Kouba Avenue on Cleveland's west side aout 2:10 p.m.

After a short foot pursuit, Danzy was arrested and taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive's Task Force.

Police say Danzy was in custody on an aggravated murder warrant and a contempt of court traffic warrant and was released in error after a court appearance on Dec. 19.

Safety Director Marty Flask said the employee responsible for mistakenly releasing Danzy was terminated after a disciplinary hearing.
