SOLON -- A police K-9 sniffed out five heroin packets, six hypodermic syringes inside Solon woman's car and purse during a traffic stop.

About 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, a police officer on patrol saw a car on Aurora Road eastbound stopped at the red light at Solon Road. He noticed that it suddenly lurched forward and entered the intersection, stopping under the traffic light.

When the light turned green, the officer pulled the car over on a traffic stop. The officer became suspicious and had a police K-9 search the exterior and interior of the car.

Police say Charity Masterson, 37, of Solon, was arrested and charged with five counts of felony drug possession after officers removed five packets of suspected heroin and six hypodermic syringes from the car and Masterson's purse.

Police also contacted Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services because Masterson had her teenage daughter in the car with her.
