Akron: Juveniles arrested for aggravated robbery

AKRON -- Police arrested a 9-year-old and a 13-year-old Thursday after attempting to rob a man who was shoveling his driveway.

Around 3:00 p.m., a man was shoveling his driveway when he was approached by the juveniles. One of them pulled a gun from his waistband and demanded money. 

The victim walked away and the kids ran.

Minutes later, the juveniles returned and demanded money again. When the victim said he didn't have any money, the kids ran again. That's when the man called police.

Officer's located the boys near Vernon Odom Boulevard and Mallison Avenue. They were taken into custody. 

Police say the juveniles both had BB guns on them that were designed to look like real firearms.

They were charged with aggravated robbery and taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
