There was a fire in the West Side Market Jan. 30. The city's structural engineers have determined that the building is safe.

Only two stands will not reopen yet -- Foster's and Sebastian's Meats. Those were the two stalls near where the fire originated.

The Cleveland Fire Department continues to investigate the cause of the fire and, for now, the cause is listed as "undetermined."

Those two stalls were badly damaged but the smoke and soot required a complete cleaning of the building.

The Produce Building -- which is separate from the Market House -- has been open since Friday, Feb. 1.

The clean up by Mentor-based RestorX MD is completed.

"It's tough, not having half of our income was pretty much gone," says Jeff Campbell, who owns three stands inside the market.

He and other vendors spent the afternoon moving equipment back in and cleaning their display cases for a second time.

Vendors we spoke with say they're most excited for Monday morning, when they see familiar faces return to shop.

"They're good customers and they're going to come back," says Andrew Dionne, owner of Dionne's Meats, "I'm sure they're excited to get back down here, because I'm sure they're all losing 10, 20 pounds already."
