Cleveland: Woman killed in crossfire identified

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a woman on the city's east side from Wednesday night.

The woman was shot near the Amesbury Rosalind Apartments in the area of East 93rd Street and Hough Avenue around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim as 45-year-old Valetta Martin.

Officers found her shot multiple times.

The was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she later died.

Witnesses at the scene tell police that the woman was caught in crossfire between two men shooting at one another.

There is no description of the two men available.
