CLEVELAND -- A man has died after falling off a train at a local steel mill plant.
The incident happened Saturday afternoon at ArcelorMittal Steel.
Cleveland police responded to a call for a dead body around 5 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a man lying on the train tracks with a severe head injury.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has identified the man as 50-year-old Randolph Vayda, of Elyria. Randolph was an employee of ArcelorMittal Steel.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Randolph was working on the platform of the rear-most car of a train. He reportedly fell off and was struck by another train car.
EMS pronounced Randolph dead at the scene.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office will rule on the final cause of death.
