CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police have acquired 32 "body" cameras. The cameras are not in use on the road as of yet.
The cameras are worn on the officers' bodies to record their movements.
A police spokeswoman says the cameras will be assigned as follows: 6 per district and 2 per platoon, and one camera will be assigned to the Gymnasium Unit and one camera will be assigned to the Homicide Unit.
The cameras were acquired for testing and training prior to purchase.
Other police department, such as Solon police, have been using the body cameras.
