CHARDON -- A memorial walk has been held in Chardon to mark 1-year since a shooting claimed the lives of three students and left three others injured.
Students carried signs and symbols of support as they walked together from the high school to the town square.
The students were cheered by onlookers lining the street.
Students are spending the day in various service activities including making blankets for an organization that helps those touched by tragedy.
A candlelight vigil and a memorial concert are planned for the evening.
The commemoration comes one day after the teen gunman responsible for the shooting, T.J. Lane, pleaded guilty to all charges. The parents of the three teenage boys who died in shooting have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Lane and his family.
