PARMA -- Columbia Gas is on the scene of a ruptured gas main and Snow Road has been reopened after a gas main ruptured Wednesday evening.
The gas main was hit by a construction or utility crew while digging in the middle of Snow Road after 7 p.m.
The Parma Fire Department as a precaution evacuated their station and 12 nearby homes. The evacuees were taken to St. Francis de Sales in Parma and have now returned home.
Columbia Gas tells Channel 3 they have now made the area safe and residents are returning home.
The area of Snow Road between W.33rd Street and State Road was temporarily closed in both directions.
Service will be restored to those homes in a few hours.
