EASTLAKE -- Shortly after getting arrested for disorderly conduct/intoxication, police say a man started talking to the urinal in his holding cell, expressing the love he had for it.
Now, that suspect, 50-year-old Kenneth Kulas of Eastlake, is expected in court Tuesday morning.
Police say it all started back on Feb. 23 when they responded to reports of an intoxicated man inside the Discount Tobacco Store at 34722 Vine Street around 4:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, an officer reported that Kulas was propping himself against a shelf while trying to have a discussion with a bottle of vodka and a customer who was standing in line waiting to check out.
An Eastlake Police report indicates that Kulas was slurring his words with thoughts that were confused and random.
When the officer asked the suspect what he was trying to purchase, the man said he was shopping for his mother. But when asked about the specific items he was trying to buy, the suspect reportedly told the officer he was "trying to purchase a piece of mind."
As a result of his slurred speech, difficulty walking, alcoholic odor and behavior, police took Kulas into custody.
