CLEVELAND -- Police had a busy night dealing with seven shootings, one ending in a homicide.
It all started around 11 p.m. two men were taken to the Cleveland Clinic with gunshot wounds. There is no word on their conditions at this time.
Then police said another victim was shot in the area of E. 79th and Woodland Avenue. That person was taken to an area hospital.
Fast forward to 3 a.m. Police were called out to the Nell Avenue and E. 144th Street for a 22-year-old man was shot. When police got to the scene they found the man in the driver's seat of a car, with multiple gunshots to the chest. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Police say the man was with two women when he drove up to a group of people near E. 149th Street and St. Clair Avenue. One man from the group walked to the car, robbing the victim. After robbing the man the suspect shot him.
One of the women tried to help the man driving his car to E. 144th Street until officers got on scene. Police are ruling this homicide.
At 3:12 a.m. police were called back to Woodland Avenue this time in the area of E.55th for a male that was shot. He was transported to an area hospital.
Thirty minutes later police were called out to the Clinic a second time when a man was shot in the area of E. 108th Street and Superior Avenue.
Then at 4:18 a.m. University Hospitals called police because they had a male who walked in with a gunshot wound. No word on where he was shot or his condition.
